When I first traveled to Italy I promised this blog’s followers that I’d try to post something every other day. As is evident from the post dates, the promise was broken. There’s a good reason, though, and I’m certain you’ll understand. When I boarded flight AZ 0631 I expected I would spend some leisure time in Florence and learn how to prepare Italian Pastries and Desserts. I thought I’d have long and lazy days, as well as time to reflect and enjoy Italy. Instead I worked every weekday in a Pastry Shop and attended class for the rest of the day. On some days classes ran until 8:30 p.m. Family or friends visited every couple of weeks. And time just flew by. I did sit at the computer and begin a few posts but things just kept coming up. Wouldn’t you rather be out-and-about roaming beautiful Firenze? And roam we did!
This blog is about food and we’ll pick up where we left off. I promised you “Bread” and bread you will have. By the way, speaking of promises…during the time away, I learned one very valuable lesson. For years I heard mom and dad say: “listen to what people do, not what they say they will do”. A lifetime later I think I get it. I met some beautiful people in Italy. One of them helped me figure it out.
